Grylls to front ITV survival show

International adventurer Bear Grylls will front a new ITV series that sees celebrities trek through a Central American rainforest.

Bear Grylls’ Mission Survive will follow eight celebs as they attempt to survive a 12-day journey, with a series of gruelling elimination tasks along the way.

Grylls will be on hand to give the group daily briefings, but ultimately they must complete the mission themselves.

The series, produced by Bear Grylls Ventures, US prodco Electus and Discovery-owned UK outfit Betty, will air on ITV in 2015.

Grylls teamed up recently with UK production company Barcroft Media to launch YouTube channel Bear Grylls Adventure.
