Fox escapes Houdini & Doyle

Houdini & Doyle

Houdini & Doyle’s future is unclear

Fox in the US is not moving ahead with a second season of Houdini & Doyle, the drama that brought escape artist Harry Houdini and Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle together.

The 10-part coproduction between the UK’s Big Talk Productions and Canada’s Shaftesbury followed the famous duo as they tackled a series of crimes with the Metropolitan Police.

It premiered in the UK on ITV Encore and the commercial broadcaster’s flagship channel, as well as on Global in Canada and Fox in the US.

It is unclear whether the show has a future following Fox’s exit, with sources telling C21 that ITV also has no plans for a second run.

The drama is exec produced by House creator David Shore and written and created by his long-time collaborator David Hoselton, along with Canadian screenwriter David Titcher. Sony Pictures Television handles international distribution.
