FIC merges Turkish operations

Fox International Channels (FIC) is combining its pay-TV business and free-to-air channel in Turkey into a single operational unit led by Adam Theiler.

FIC Turkey and Fox Turkey currently report to Jan Koeppen, president of FIC Europe and Africa since April.

Now FIC’s Theiler will run the combined business as exec VP of Southern Europe and Africa. Theiler will also continue to oversee all of FIC’s TV and online businesses in Spain, Portugal, Greece and Africa.

Pietro Vicari, who has run the free-to-air Fox Turkey business for the past five years, will join Sky Italia as deputy chief financial officer.

Cenk Soner will lead the integration process as chief operating officer while Mehmet Icagasioglu will lead ad sales for the business.

Sebnem Askin will continue to run programming at Fox TV in Turkey and Dogan Senturk will retain his role as head of news and sports at the same channel. The appointments are effective immediately.

“By combining our pay TV business and our free-to-air channel in Turkey, we make them a more integral part of 21st Century Fox,” said Koeppen.

“This operational integration creates a stronger partner for advertisers and platforms, a powerful creative destination for producers and an even more exciting place for our employees to work.”
