Far East buyers turn to Twofour factual

Alex Polizzi’s Secret Spain was acquired by Bilibili and TVB

Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific and A+E Networks Asia are among the Far Eastern broadcasters to have picked up nearly 200 hours of factual content from UK distributor Twofour Rights.

Discovery Communications India bought the rights to a package including This Time Next Year and dating show Strip Date.

Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific picked up season one of Indian Dream Hotel on Tour, and seasons one and two of The Indian Dream Hotel, both of which are spun off from the BBC’s The Real Marigold Hotel.

Chinese VoD service Bilibili has acquired a 79-hour on-demand package which includes the latest season of Choccywoccydoodah, one-off The World’s Most Expensive Toys and travelogue Alex Polizzi’s Secret Spain. The latter show also went to TVB in Hong Kong.

A+E Networks Asia and AETN18 licensed Boomerang’s Hidden Restaurants.

Meanwhile, National Geographic Asia bought the rights to The World’s Greatest Food Markets, Scripps Networks International secured a pan-Asia deal for Cooks’ Questions and The Diner, and ITV Choice acquired both seasons of Chopping Block.
