Ex-Strix chief to head WB Denmark

Warner Bros International Television Production (WBITVP) has appointed a former MD at production outfit Strix as the MD of its operation in Denmark.

Fredrik Hillerbrand joins the firm from Strong Productions where he was CEO and oversaw the merger of Danish prodcos Gong and Strix.

He was previously MD at Strix responsible for local production of formats including Kitchen Nightmares and The Farm.

Hillerbrand will now take over WBITVP’s television production operations in Denmark, it was announced today by Ronald Goes, executive VP and head of WBITVP.

The Copenhagen-based arm of the production giant works on a range of shows including the local version of First Dates for commercial broadcaster TV2.

In related news, WBTVPUK has appointed a group commercial and business affairs director from ITV.

Alexia Edwards has come onboard to oversee business affairs and intellectual property exploitation of the group’s programmes and brands across its production companies, which include Wall to Wall, Ricochet, Twenty Twenty, Yalli Productions and Renegade Pictures.

Edwards, who spent the past 10 years at ITV, began her career as a lawyer at All3Media-owned prodco Lion Television.

On the sales side of the business, Alison Morris has been promoted to senior VP of sales in UK and Ireland at Warner Bros International Television Distribution WBITD.

Morris was previously VP of sales in the region, having joined in November 2007 as director of sales. She had previously held senior positions at Channel 4 and BBC Worldwide.
