Five Days Inside looks beyond the doors of secretive institutions

Broadcasters in the Netherlands and Belgium have become the first to line up remakes of a primetime format from Norwegian public broadcaster NRK.

Five Days Inside follows a journalist who discovers what it is like to live and work behind the closed doors of institutions such as a drug rehab unit, a hospice for the terminally ill and an eating disorder clinic.

Dutch indie Vincent TV Producties has produced a 6×60′ version for RTL4, which is set to air this month, while Belgian prodco Lecter Media is producing a 6×60′ seriers for an as-yet undisclosed broadcaster.

The NRK-produced original, sold by UK-based distribution and rights management outfit Magnify Media, has been a hit for the Norwegian broadcast which recently commissioned a second season.

Ole Hedemann, head of formats at NRK, said the show “stands out in our schedule as something unique and heart-warming, despite the seriousness of the topics.”

Magnify has previously sold NRK gameshow format Doctors vs Internet, which was licensed by TV2 in Denmark.
