Discovery probes the inexplicable

Discovery Networks International (DNI) has ordered an X-Files-style documentary to air in more than 200 countries.

The Unexplained Files, from UK-indie Raw TV (Gold Rush), will air on Discovery Channel in the UK on August 5 before being rolled out across 223 countries in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It will also air on Science Channel in the US on August 28.

The 6×60’ series will investigate inexplicable occurrences that have confounded scientists and inspired legends, from mysterious disappearances to UFO encounters.

The series was commissioned by Sarah Davies, DNI’s commissioning editor and exec producer, and will be exec produced by Josh Berley and Raw TV’s Dimitri Dognais and Ben Fox.
