Canal+ enters Section Zero

French pay TV broadcaster Canal+ has begun work on a futuristic political drama from renowned director and screenwriter Olivier Marchal.

Section Zero is set across Europe in 2024 in a world where states have given up their individual sovereignty to multinational corporations, which are in a power struggle with each other.

The 8×52’ series, created by Marchal (Braquo) and Guillaume Laurent, began filming this week and will continue until July 2015.

It’s being produced by Thomas and Edward Anargyros of Vésinne for EuropaCorp Television, in association with European production outfits Bad Company and Umedia

Marchal, Franck Philippon, Edgar Marie and David Martinez are writing the series.
