C5 takes to skies with Vorderman

UK broadcaster Channel 5 (C5) has ordered a three-part series that follows TV personality Carol Vorderman’s bid to fly around the world on her own.

Carol’s Incredible Solo Flight Around the World (3×60’, working title), from UK indie Arrow Media, will follow the former Countdown co-host as she tries to become only the ninth woman in history to complete the feat.

“This series demonstrates a previously unseen side to Carol as she embarks on this incredible and inspiring adventure where she’ll be tested to her absolute limits,” said Lucy Willis, commissioning editor at C5. Executive producer for the project is Tom Brisley.

Three short exclusives following Vorderman’s journey will roll out on C5’s video-on-demand service, My5.
