Bounce goes for Grown Folks

Saints & Sinners has been given a third season

US African-American network Bounce is expanding its original programming slate with the launch of a comedy series in addition to renewing three of its existing shows.

Grown Folks is a half-hour sitcom about two blue-collar couples who share a duplex while navigating life, marriage and friendship. It has been created by Bentley Kyle Evans (In The Cut, Family Time).

Meanwhile, Bounce has renewed drama Saints & Sinners from US prodco Swirl Film for a third season, while a sixth run of sitcom Family Time and a fourth of barbershop drama In the Cut have also been ordered.

Bounce is one of four networks set to be bought by The EW Scripps Company, after the channels operator agreed a US$292m deal earlier this week.

The arrangement with Katz Broadcasting will see EW Scripps acquiring Bounce alongside fellow US networks Grit, Escape and Laff.

Bounce TV was launched in 2011 and claims to be available in more than 95 million homes across the US, including 93% of all African-American television homes.
