Blue Ant Int’l unveils first kids’ slate

Teddies centres on a group of teddy bear friends

The distribution arm of Canadian broadcast and production group Blue Ant Media is expanding into the children’s business and will launch a slate of programmes at MipJunior next month.

Blue Ant International is taking more than 200 hours of kids’ content to Cannes from recently acquired global production companies Northern Pictures and Beach House Pictures.

The slate includes Teddies (45×30’), a puppet series following four teddy bear friends as they learn about the world.

Wild Friends (180×30’) introduces two- to seven-year-olds to the natural world using puppetry, animation and wildlife footage designed to inspire a love of animals and nature.

Creature Mania! (65×30’) is made up of 10 short segments about a host of animals.

Most Extreme – Alien Planet Earth (65×30’) showcases sequences of extreme animal and human behaviour, linked by a presenter in the character role of an alien explorer.

The new slate is aimed at preschoolers and six- to 11-year-olds.

Northern Pictures and Beach House Pictures became part of Blue Ant Media when the company acquired David Haslingden’s Racat Group in May.
