BBC3 welcomes excluded pupils

BBC3 has ordered a three-part observational documentary series that will explore life in a UK school for pupils who have been expelled.

Excluded: Kicked Out Of School will air in January and reveals day-to-day life for pupils who have been moved out of mainstream education in London.

The show, from UK prodco KEO Films in partnership with The Open University, has been shot over the course of a year and will follow pupils as they take exams and feature the staff who must control the children’s behaviour.

The BBC recently appointed former controller of daytime Damian Kavanagh to become digital controller of the new-look BBC3, ahead of its move online.
