The Big Food Rescue represents a diversification away from police and crime series for UK indie Raw Cut.

The show follows a movement to reduce the 10 million tonnes of food thrown away in the UK every year, going behind the scenes at a foodbank in Oxford and its attempts to transfer its model to London.

Tom Randall and Steve Warr are the executive producers and the show will air stripped across five days at 09.15 from November 28.

The broadcaster has also ordered a 40-minute Christmas special of sitcom Outnumbered, which came to an end after five seasons nearly three years ago.

The show, which follows family life, is written, directed and produced by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin. Executive producers are Jimmy Mulville for Hat Trick and Gregor Sharp for the BBC.
