BBC reunites with Poldark’s Horsfield

The BBC has ordered a contemporary drama from the pen of Poldark writer Debbie Horsfield.

Age Before Beauty hails from Mainstreet Pictures for BBC1 and reunites the team behind BBC hairdressing drama Cutting It, a show created by Horsfield that aired in 2002.

The new drama will again follow the lives and loves of workers in a salon. Writer and creator Horsfield will executive produce alongside Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes, joint MDs of Mainstreet Pictures, and Elizabeth Kilgarriff for the BBC.

Age Before Beauty was commissioned by BBC content director Charlotte Moore and Lucy Richer, acting controller of BBC Drama commissioning.
