BBC launches online football drama

The BBC is launching an interactive football drama as part of its First World War season.

Footballers United, produced by UK indie Somethin’ Else (Our World War), launches this week online and across multiple mobile devices.

The 5×15’ drama tells the story of the Heart of Midlothian football team and two young men and two young women between 1914 and 1919 in Scotland. The narrative is accompanied by archives of images, text and video.

It was commissioned by head of BBC Learning Sinead Rocks and the unit’s head of commissioning Abigail Appleton.
