Astro, iQiyi ink content deal

Hot Blood Dance Crew

Asian broadcaster Astro has teamed up with Chinese VoD service iQiyi to offer its audiences access to Chinese drama and entertainment programming.

Under the agreement, from March, customers of Malaysia-based Astro will be able to access premium iQiyi content on the same day and time as its Chinese audiences through drama network Astro Shuang Xing and the Astro Go app.

Programming available includes entertainment series such as street dance variety show Hot Blood Dance Crew and legal romance thriller Meet Me @ 1006.

Astro’s deal with iQiyi follows the announcement earlier this year that the broadcaster was partnering with Indonesian director Ifa Isfansyah for action-drama DO[S]A.
