NATPE: Taiwan-based distributor The Classic Vision has sold a feature-length documentary about love and marriage to CCTV9 in China and is seeking broadcast partners for a spin-off series.
Let’s Fall in Love is a 90-minute film from director Wuna Wu and producer Ging Lee. It follows the work of matchmaker and relationship counsellor Hellen Chen and the couples who seek her help. Wu calls on her own painful past to help tell the stories of others.
CCTV9, the fledgling documentary channel from Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, has taken the film and The Classic Vision is in Budapest this week looking for other buyers.
The company is also seeking broadcasters around the world to take on a spin-off series from the film featuring Chen and directed by Wu. The 13x47’ series is in pre-production, focusing on a different troubled relationship in each episode and how Chen goes about fixing it.
