Antenna to shop Viceland content in CEE

The distribution arm of Greece’s Antenna Group has agreed a deal with Vice Media to represent content from youth-skewing linear channel Viceland across Central and Eastern Europe.

Antenna International Enterprises will represent more than 300 hours of original Viceland content in Russia, Greece, Romania, Croatia, Hungary and other CEE territories, excluding Poland.

The deal will incorporate Viceland’s library of flagship programming, along with select Vice Media shows, including Emmy-winning doc series Vice, which explores global issues such as conflict and corruption, anti-government rebellions and climate change.

Viceland’s slate includes factual, current affairs and entertainment formats such as Ellen Page-fronted doc series Gaycation, investigative series Black Market and culinary travel show F*ck That’s Delicious.

The deal extends the relationship between Antenna and Vice Media, which launched a joint venture in 2014 in Greece, Serbia and Romania distributing content and the Viceland channel.

International distribution of Vice content will be managed by Antenna Group’s head of distribution Tatjana Pavlovic and made available to international broadcasters at next week’s Natpe Budapest market.

Antenna Group’s MD Pete Smith said: “We already have a highly successful, long-standing relationship with Vice Media and are delighted to now expand that partnership into content distribution.

“Antenna Group is the leading media company in CEE with an unparalleled presence and knowledge of the region. That, combined with our existing in-depth knowledge of Vice and its global content, makes us the perfect partner to increase awareness of its Viceland slate.”
