AMC extends global reach

US-based AMC Networks has secured a raft of distribution deals that will see its channels extend their reach across Europe.

Operated by AMC Networks International (AMCNI), the channels will launch on pay TV operators in Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Iberia and Africa to serve audiences with programming across multiple genres.

AMCNI has partnered with DTH provider Sky México to launch AMC as part of the VeTV package, and has linked up with fellow DTH platform Claro to launch the channels AMC and El Gourmet in Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Paraguay.

In Central Europe, AMCNI has partnered with Slovak Telekom/DIGI Slovakia, the country’s largest cable provider, to make AMC available as a 24/7 linear channel nationally.

AMCNI has already launched local AMC feeds in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Slovenia, in addition to agreeing a partnership with the United Group to launch AMC in the Balkan region on both cable and DTH platforms.

In Iberia, the Crime + Investigation channel is now available on the Euskaltel platform in Spain’s Basque Country as part of the joint venture between AMCNI Iberia and A+E Networks International.

AMC has also bolstered distribution in Poland after securing distribution with DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat, while in Africa a deal with Econet Media will see the flagship network air on regional satellite network Kwesé TV.
