Amazon has acquired Australian drama The Kettering Incident from BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) for its Prime Video service.

The show was co-created by Aussie writer Victoria Madden (The Bill, Halifax FP) and producer Vincent Sheehan (Animal Kingdom, The Hunter) and was shot entirely in Tasmania.

The eight-episode series tells the story of a doctor who returns to her home town years after one of her friends went missing.

It was ordered by Aussie pay TV operator Foxtel and is produced by Porchlight Films in association with Sweet Potato Films. Prime members in the US can stream or download the show from September 30.
