All4 adds Strut, Prancing Elites from NBCU

Strut focuses on a transgender modelling agency

All4, the VoD service from UK broadcaster Channel 4, has picked up two US documentary series that challenge perceptions of gender and sexuality from NBCUniversal International Distribution.

Strut, set in the world’s first exclusively transgender modelling agency, is executive produced by actor and TV host Whoopi Goldberg.

The six-parter follows the lives of transgender models as they pursue their dream of becoming household names in the fashion world.

The second docuseries is The Prancing Elites Project, described as an uplifting, inspiring and humorous show following an African-American, gay and gender non-conforming dance team.

All4 is adding both seasons of the series, which follows the male dance team as they challenge societal norms while overcoming obstacles on their journey to be their true selves.

Both shows originally aired on cablenet Oxygen and are distributed by NBCUniversal International Distribution. They will be added to All4 in October.

Last year, All4 ordered an eight-part factual entertainment show about life on a gay-friendly Greek island.
