A&E puts away Family Jewels

A&E Network in the US has cancelled long-running Gene Simmons reality series Family Jewels after seven seasons.

The series, produced by The Greif Company and The Gene Simmons Company, is not being renewed by A&E.

Family Jewels first appeared on the cablenet in 2006 and has since aired more than 150 episodes. The show focuses on the rock star and his family, who came to Mipcom in 2010 with A+E Networks execs to celebrate the 100th instalment.

The show is the second long-running reality series pulled from A&E’s schedules this year following the cancellation of Dog the Bounty Hunter.
