A&E flips Wahlberg reality show

US cablenet A&E Network has ordered a new reality show following Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg and his brother Donnie as they join fellow sibling Paul who is starting a new burger restaurant.

Wahlburgers is being made by 44 Blue Productions, in association with Closest to the Hole Productions, Leverage Entertainment and Donnie D Productions. It’s set in the brothers’ hometown of Boston.

Mark and Donnie Wahlberg will exec produce the show, which has been slated for broadcast on the in late January.

David McKillop, exec VP and general manager of A&E Network, said the new show would offer viewers “a new take” on the celebrity reality series.

A&E previously ordered a pilot for a female-skewed reality show from Donnie Wahlberg while TNT picked up his police docuseries Boston Finest.
