Viacom exec takes Kew Media sales role

Global content firm Kew Media Group (KMG) has appointed a new director of sales for Kew Media Distribution in the US.

Maria Ibarra joins in the newly created role based in Miami and will manage sales of Kew Media Distribution’s programming slate across Latin America, the Caribbean, US Hispanic territories and Canada.

The appointment is part of a strategy to develop Kew Media Distribution content throughout the region. Ibarra will report to Jennifer Askin, who was appointed as VP of sales earlier this year.

Previously at Viacom International Media Networks, Ibarra has more than a decade of experience in broadcast distribution, production and business development.

She joined Viacom in 2006 as an in-house production manager before moving to the international programme sales team in 2008.

During her time at Viacom, Ibarra managed sales across Latin America and since 2015 was director of international programme sales, responsible for Latin America and Canada.
