Universal finds Lost City Explorers

Universal Television has agreed a deal with writer Zack Kaplan to adapt his comic book series The Lost City Explorers for TV.

The deal has been struck with AfterShock Comics, the US publisher of the comic, which is written by Kaplan and drawn by Alvaro Sarraseca and Dee Cunniffe.

The sci-fi story follows a group of teenagers who embark upon a mysterious expedition after one of their fathers disappears and find the lost city of Atlantis buried under New York City.

Kaplan said: “The Lost City Explorers is a story to inspire the imagination and unlock everyone’s hidden explorer. Along with Aftershock, I’m thrilled to partner with Universal and help bring this story to television.”

Kaplan is attached as executive producer alongside Lee Kramer and Jon Kramer, AfterShock’s president and CEO respectively.
