U-Next takes three from ZDFE

Wild District is a copro between ZDFE and Dynamo

Japanese SVoD service U-Next has picked up a trio of dramas from German distributor ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE).

The streamer has acquired exclusive Japanese SVoD rights to Wild District (10×60’), Ku’damm 56 (3×90’/6×45’) and Ku’damm 59 (3×90’/6×45’) from the commercial arm of the German pubcaster.

Wild District is produced by Dynamo (The Hidden Face, Undertow) in coproduction with ZDFE. Created by Cristian Conti and directed by Javier Fuentes-León and Carlos Moreno, it stars Juan Pablo Raba (Narcos, Six) and tells the story of a man who escapes armed conflict in Colombia only to find himself facing a private war on two fronts.

The family saga Ku’damm 56 and its sequel Ku’damm 59 focus on the awakening of young people in the 1950s. It was commissioned by ZDF and produced by UFA Fiction, with producers Nico Hofmann and Benjamin Benedict (Generation War, Deutschland 83, Deutschland 89’) at the helm.
