Turner Asia Pacific adds Disney alum

Turner Asia Pacific has appointed a former MediaCorp and Disney executive to oversee children’s content for its Cartoon Network, Boomerang and POGO networks in the region.

Leslie Lee has been named VP of kids’ content and is based in Singapore, overseeing programming, operations, brand and franchise management, as well as the content direction of the three brands.

Lee has spent nearly two decades working on children’s brands for both linear TV and digital operators, and was most recently executive director of media networks at Disney South-East Asia, which he joined in 2007.

Ricky Ow, president of Turner Asia Pacific, said Lee would “bring his experience, fresh perspective and new ideas to help us to grow our leadership position in the kids’ space.”

Lee added: “I’m a huge fan of pop culture and animation, and I’ve now got the opportunity to work with some of the very best brands and most iconic franchises ever created. It’s a fantastic opportunity and it’s a privilege to be a part of a great team.”
