TruTV names development VP

US cable network TruTV has promoted to fill the role of VP for development, working on its original programming slate.

Marissa Ronca, previously senior director for development, will be based in New York and report directly to senior VP of programming, production and development Darren Campo.

Ronca joined Tru in 2007 and has worked on programmes such as Rehab: Party at the Hard Rock Hotel and All Worked Up, and upcoming series Hardcore Pawn and Ma’s Roadhouse.

Before then she had stints in the development departments at TLC – where she was credited with its first broadband series, Makeover Train – and Discovery Home Channel.
