Sundance joins Oslo Killing

US streamer Sundance Now has come onboard as a coproducer on a six-hour true crime series being produced by Discovery Networks Norway, Norwegian producer Monster and UK-based distributor DRG.

The Oslo Killing

The Oslo Killing follows the case of Anni Nielsen Iranzo, who was found brutally murdered at her home in Oslo in 1974, sparking an international police search that has never been resolved.

The show has started production and examines an unsolved crime that spans four decades and crosses countries including Norway, Spain, Argentina and the US.

It will premiere in 2019 in North America, UK, Ireland, and German-speaking Europe on Sundance Now, AMC Networks’ direct-to-consumer SVoD service.

Elin Thomas, DRG’s exec VP of sales, described the show as a “mesmerizing and sensational series” that “will sit right up there with the very best and most compelling true crime documentaries of recent years.

“It’s a big and important story so we are delighted that Sundance has come onboard as co-producer. Not only does this deal give the series a perfect premiere platform in key territories, but the Sundance involvement will further endorse this series as one to watch.”
