Spun Gold hires Hammond

London-based indie Spun Gold TV has hired an executive from GroupM Entertainment to diversify its content offering.

Tim Hammond is coming onboard in the newly created role of commercial director, having previously held the same position at GroupM.

He will oversee the day-to-day commercial operations of the company and drive the firm’s growth by seeking investment opportunities. He is also charged with developing Spun Gold’s links with brands and digital strategy.

In a 20-year television career he has been head of production at ITV Carlton, director of operations at Target Entertainment and commercial director and MD of presenting duo Ant and Dec’s prodco Gallowgate.

Nick Bullen, MD of Spun Gold, who worked with Hammond at ITV Carlton, said: “This, our 10th year, is set to be a bumper one for Spun Gold and this key appointment is an important part of our growth strategy for 2014 and beyond.”
