Sky takes aim at Bulletproof

UK-based pay TV operator Sky has ordered a police drama from the production companies behind Wolf Hall and forthcoming scripted series Britannia.

Bulletproof is said to centre on the relationships between fathers and sons, friendship, conspiracies and ghosts from the past.

The show is being produced by UK prodco Vertigo Films, which was behind The Football Factory and is producing Sky original Britannia, along with Wolf Hall producer Company Pictures.

Bulletproof has been created by Noel Clarke, Ashley Walters and Nick Love, with international distribution handled by Sky’s in-house sales outfit Sky Vision. Executive producers are Allan Niblo, Michele Buck and Judy Counihan and the producer is Jon Finn.

ABC and Sony’s The Good Doctor follows an autistic medic

The show will air next year on Sky1 alongside a third season of Stan Lee’s Lucky Man, again produced by the UK’s Carnival Films. The series is distributed by NBCUniversal International Distribution.

In related news, Sky Living has acquired US medical drama The Good Doctor from ABC and Sony Pictures Television.

The Good Doctor, based on the South Korean drama of the same name, follows a young surgeon who has been diagnosed as autistic with savant syndrome and is recruited into the surgical unit of a prestigious hospital.
