Sky1 in the UK has greenlit an action-adventure comedy series starring Jack Whitehall and has also renewed drama Delicious for a second season.

Whitehall (Fresh Meat) and Academy Award nominee Rosie Perez are fronting Bounty Hunters, which is being made by Cave Bear Productions.

Written by Whitehall and Freddy Syborn, who previously worked together on the movie and series Bad Education, Bounty Hunters follows a young man who finds himself in over his head while running his hospitalised father’s antiques business. A chain of events is sparked when he unwittingly buys an item looted from the war-torn Middle East.

Meanwhile, Delicious, starring Dawn French and Emelia Fox, has been confirmed for a second season. The show premiered in December last year and was Sky1’s most watched drama of 2016.

It follows the two leads through an entangled story of love and deceit and is produced by Bandit Television, part of the Endemol Shine Group. Dan Sefton is the writer and Clare Kilner the director.

Delicious was commissioned by Adam MacDonald, director of Sky 1 and Anne Mensah, Sky’s head of drama.

It will be executive produced by Phillippa Giles for Bandit Television and Anna Ferguson for Sky, and will be distributed by Endemol Shine International.

Bounty Hunters was commissioned by Adam MacDonald and Jon Mountague, Sky’s head of comedy.
