Silverlining gets A+E veteran Job

UK indie prodco and distribution company Silverlining TV has recruited a former A+E Networks UK exec for the newly created role of director of acquisitions.

Rachel Job

Rachel Job joins Bristol-based Silverlining immediately and will spearhead the sourcing of content for its distribution business, as well as working alongside company head Bethan Corney to negotiate coproduction deals and deliver pre-sales in the UK and international markets. Job will be based in London.

Before coming to Silverlining, Job spent a decade at US cablenet A+E Networks’ UK branch, overseeing its History UK brand – History and H2 channels – across the UK and EMEA.

During this period, she commissioned and acquired multiple hours of programming including archaeological factual series Mud Men with Johnny Vaughan, Ronnie O’Sullivan’s American Hustle and local versions of A+E hit format Pawn Stars. She also previously held a senior marketing and acquisitions position at UK indie 3DD.

Job’s appointment comes during a flurry of activity on the distribution front at Silverlining through its Silverlining Rights distribution arm.

Recent pick-ups include Channel 5 medical documentary GPs: Behind Closed Doors (42×60’), Brinkworth Films’ airline doc The Secret Life of the Long-Haul Flight (1×90’/1×60’) and ITN Productions’ Ivanka Trump: America’s Real First Lady? (1×60′).

The company was set up by Corney in 2012 in response to a growing need from producers for help with finding funding to get their ideas into production, particularly in the factual programming sphere.

“The key to Silverlining’s offering is our editorial integrity and commercial creativity gained from extensive broadcaster experience,” said Corney. “Rachel is a class act with an instinct for what rates internationally, having commissioned and coproduced hundreds of hours of programmes, from docudramas and formats to talent-led specials and returnable series.

“I’m looking forward to us growing Silverlining together and extending the range of production finance and editorial services that we offer producers.”
