Showtime readies Roosevelt drama

US cable network Showtime is developing a drama about the life of former US president Teddy Roosevelt.

The Life and Times of Teddy Roosevelt is being penned by David McKenna, with Electus and Authentic Entertainment producing.

The project, which is still in the early stages of development, will centre on the life of the 26th president, who served two terms from 1901 to 1909.

Ben Silverman and Sean Cannino will produce for Electus, with Jon Rubinstein and Jason Egenberg  producing for Authentic.
