Facebook Watch will take digital content from Seven’s My Kitchen Rules

Seven Network has become the first Australian broadcaster to sign a content deal with Facebook.

Its production arm, Seven Studios, will supply digital content from its flagship brands including My Kitchen Rules, Home & Away, Better Homes & Gardens and House Rules to Facebook Watch.

The first batch of original series will launch on June 17, complementing output from Seven’s broadcast schedule and 7plus streaming service.

Matt Apps, Seven Studios’ executive producer and digital content lead, will oversee the initiative for Seven Studios, alongside Amber Brown from Facebook entertainment and media partnerships.

“The deal will help Seven reach and engage even more people, giving fans more of what they love and giving a boost to our commercial partners,” said Seven Studios CEO Therese Hegarty.

“Seven creates premium programming that Australian’s want to talk about and form friendships around. We are excited to invest in content that ignites this type of conversation and connection,” added William Easton, Facebook Australia MD.
