Rodriguez joins Lifetime unscripted team

A+E Networks-owned US cablenet Lifetime has hired an experienced showrunner as its VP of unscripted development and programming.

Cat Rodriguez is joining the network in its LA office, reporting to Gena McCarthy, executive VP of unscripted and development for Lifetime and head of programming for FYI.

Rodriguez has been showrunning factual and reality series in the US for more than 20 years, starting with seminal MTV shows Next, Date My Mom, Parental Control and Bam’s Unholy Union.

She then went on to produce two seasons of LA Ink before moving on to The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Her more recent credits include Lifetime’s Little Women: LA & Atlanta, Bravo’s Chef Academy and Project Runway companion series Models of the Runway. She has also worked on Lifetime’s Seven Year Switch and Bravo’s Stripped.
