Zinc’s Red Sauce hires creative pair

New Zinc Media-owned popular factual producer Red Sauce has added a pair of experienced executives to its creative team.

Ben Smith

The company was launched in September by former BBC commissioner and diversity lead Tom Edwards, and will be based in London and Manchester.

It has now hired Ben Smith as exec producer for the Manchester base and Sefunmi Olatunbosun as senior development producer in London.

Smith joins Red Sauce from Banijay’s Workerbee, where he was head of development, overseeing the creation and pitching of ideas for all of the main UK broadcasters and global factual channels.

Sefunmi Olatunbosun

Prior to Workerbee, he produced a wide range of shows at Shiver, Shine North, the BBC and True North, among others, with credits including: Idris Elba: No Limits for Discovery Channel, The Big NHS Singalong: Live for ITV and Supercar Megabuild for National Geographic.

A freelance development producer and producer, Olatunbosun has worked with some of the industry’s leading indies, developing innovative new formats.

His former employers include Dragonfly, Expectation and Monkey Kingdom.

Olatunbosun begins his role immediately, with Smith taking up his role on 23 November. Both report to Tom Edwards, Red Sauce creative director.
