ZEE5 picks Flower of Evil as first Korean drama to be remade in India

Duranga: Two Shades of a Lie will debut on Friday

Indian streaming platform ZEE5 is set to launch a local remake of Korean drama series Flower of Evil this week.

Flower of Evil was originally developed and produced by Studio Dragon for CJ ENM’s pay TV network TVN in South Korea, where it premiered in 2020.

The drama follows a man with a past marked by crime and violence who changes his ways, hides his true identity and becomes a family man. His new wife, however, is a detective who soon starts to become suspicious of her husband’s past.

The Indian remake is called Duranga: Two Shades of a Lie and will premiere on ZEE5 on Friday. The nine-part adaptation is produced by Rose Audio Visuals and directed by Pradeep Sarkar and Aijaz Khan.

Flower of Evil is the first Korean drama to be remade in India, according to Studio Dragon. It is also being adapted in the Philippines by pay TV network Kapamilya Channel, part of ABS-CBN Corporation.
