Tannadice Pictures will see Forsyth exclusively develop and write content for Objective Fiction, which is part of the Objective Media Group. He will also develop projects with other writers through the new label.

BBC4 drama Eric, Ernie & Me, produced by Objective Fiction, was nominated for a Royal Television Society (RTS) Award. Forsyth’s other credits include BBC4’s series Bob Servant.

Most recently he created, wrote and executive produced BBC Scotland drama Guilt, which earned him his second RTS writing award nomination and won the RTS Scotland award for Best Drama.

Forsyth said: “I’ve always enjoyed working with Objective, who have been a supportive creative partner for many years. This is a really exciting opportunity and I can’t wait to get going.”

Objective Fiction specialises in original scripted content, in particular comedy drama. Recent productions include Channel 4’s Year of the Rabbit and GameFace, the BBC’s Witless, and Netflix and Channel 4 coproduction Feel Good.

Chief creative officer Ben Farrell said: “Neil is a creative force, a superb writer who absolutely understands the way the TV industry operates, both nationally and internationally. I’m excited to be partnering up with him and Tannadice Pictures in this new venture.”

Tannadice’s exclusive deal with Objective Fiction will not affect Forsyth’s existing projects, including Guilt.
