The book follows young law clerk Avery Keene who is placed in legal charge of a judge who has slipped into a coma. But in taking care of him she discovers a conspiracy that goes right to the corridors of power in the US government.

Working Title co-chairmen Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are executive producers along with Abrams and Working Title’s head of TV in the US Katy Rozelle.

Abrams has previously published romance novels under the pseudonym Selena Montgomery, with this being the first using her own name.

Pearlena Igbokwe, chairman of Universal Studio Group, said: “As the media landscape continues to flourish with infinite content, we are excited to embark on this journey with Stacey, who has played an instrumental role in the American narrative and now television industry. We look forward to bringing a level of authenticity, cultural representation and universal storytelling to this project.”
