Whistle, Insight link for female sports show

Making (Her)Story will look at competitions such as Formula 4 and NASCAR

LA prodco Whistle Studios and Dutch producer and channel Insight TV are coproducing a documentary series about aspiring female athletes in male-dominated sports.

Making (Her)Story (6×60’) will follow three sportswomen as they aim to break the glass ceiling in sports like horse racing, NASCAR and Formula 4.

The docuseries is exec produced by Whistle studio head Melanie Capacia Johnson and head of unscripted Mike Basone, who will also showrun.

Insight renewed football competition format Ultimate Goal for a second season on the UK’s BT Sport earlier this month, while in March it agreed a deal with the Dutch football association to make a series following the Netherlands under-21 football team.

Making (Her)Story will run on Insight’s TV channel and streaming platform worldwide, with Whistle Studios subsequently making it available on its own OTT platform.
