USA Network faces Doom drama

NBCUniversal-owned pay TV channel USA Network has ordered a pliot of anthology series Masters of Doom, the first instalment of which is based on David Kushner’s non-fiction book of the same name.

The drama pilot tells the true story of two computer geniuses and a group of rebellious misfits who created one of the biggest franchise hits of the 90s, the video game Doom.

The TV series will be produced by Universal Content Productions and written by Tom Bissell, who has written for video game franchises Gears of War, Battlefield and Uncharted.

Bissell and Kushner will exec produce alongside Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson and Jeremy Bell of The Gotham Group and James Franco, Dave Franco, Vince Jolivette and Elizabeth Haggard of Ramona Films.
