US streamer Hulu promotes original content execs Chang, Osisek to VP roles

US streaming service Hulu has promoted a pair of its LA-based original content executives to VP roles.

Ashley Chang

Ashley Chang has been promoted to VP of content development, drama, and Beth Osisek has been upped to VP, original documentaries and limited series.

Chang will report to Hulu originals drama head Sasha Silver, while Osisek will report to Hulu originals unscripted and documentaries chief Belisa Balaban.

Silver said: “Ashley has been an instrumental part of the team since the day she joined. She is incredible with talent, has a keen eye for material and, beyond that, is ridiculously kind, to the benefit of every one of her colleagues and creative partners. I’m thrilled that she continues to grow here and bring her talents to bear on some of our most beloved projects.”

Beth Osisek

Chang, who previously served as director of drama for Hulu originals, has brought several new and upcoming titles to Hulu, including the opioid crisis-focused limited series Dopesick; Conversations with Friends; Washington Black; and Love, Victor. She is also currently the co-chair of Hulu owner Disney’s Creative Inclusion Council, established in 2020.

Osisek, who started her career as a journalist and filmmaker, has previously worked for ABC News and news organisation The Christian Science Monitor. She joined Hulu in 2019 and has since worked on titles including Hillary, I Am Greta, Taste the Nation and The D’Amelio Show.

Balaban said: “I’ve admired Beth’s work as a producer for many years and it’s been my great pleasure to work with her at Hulu. She brings amazing firsthand experience to supporting our filmmakers and identifying stories our audiences will love.”
