TV2 drama boss Katrine Vogelsang named Nordisk Film Production CEO

Nordisk Film Production has appointed Katrine Vogelsang, head of fiction at Danish commercial broadcaster TV2, as its new CEO.

Katrine Vogelsang

Vogelsang, who has led drama at TV2 for the past 11 years, will begin work at Copenhagen-based Nordisk Film Productions on August 15.

She will replace Henrik Zein in the position, with Zein continuing as chief operating officer in a new management setup once Vogelsang is on board.

At TV2, Vogelsang has worked on shows including Day & Night, Cosmic Christmas, The Investigation, DNA, Warrior, Rita, Seaside Hotel, Dicte and Clown. She has also overseen the broadcaster’s venture into Danish film.

Vogelsang will take overall responsibility for defining the direction of Nordisk Film Production’s content, talent development and continued expansion in the Nordic region.

This includes ensuring a high number of productions, accelerating series ventures, further strengthening internal collaboration at Nordisk Film and setting the direction for external partners, broadcasters and streaming services.

Nordisk Film CEO Allan Mathson Hansen said: “Content production of series and films is an area of great opportunities and challenges. Nordisk Film wants to take the lead in the Nordic region in the coming years and is therefore strengthening the management of Nordisk Film Production.”

Zein added: “Nordisk Film Production has never been in a stronger position. However, in an ever-growing and more professionalised and globalised market, we need to expand our strategic and management bandwidth. Katrine Vogelsang is therefore a major addition to Nordisk Film Production and I’m really looking forward to realising our many ambitious plans together with her.”

The company currently has more than 30 films and series in production in the Nordic region.
