The Cry stars Victoria’s Jenna Coleman

MIPCOM: M6 in France, TV2 in Norway and TVNZ in New Zealand have picked up the latest hit BBC1 Sunday night drama from UK-based distributor DRG.

The Cry is produced by Synchronicity Films for the UK pubcaster and focuses on a couple whose baby vanishes while they are on a trip to Australia.

The 4×60’ drama is a coproduction between the BBC and its Oz pubcaster counterpart the ABC, with Sundance Now securing exclusive rights to show it in the US.

C More in Sweden, Canal+ in Poland, BBC Worldwide channels in Benelux, the Middle East and Africa, and NPO in the Netherlands have also bought the show, which is based on Helen FitzGerald’s bestselling book of the same name.
