Teletubbies reboot makes way to Netflix with new episodes due in November

The new Teletubbies is narrated by Tituss Burgess

Netflix has picked up the reboot of popular British preschool property Teletubbies, with new episodes set to launch globally on November 14.

Produced by Canada-based studio WildBrain and written by Catherine Williams, the 26×12’ reboot will be narrated by US actor and singer Tituss Burgess.

The new iteration of the series, which Netflix called a “21st century refresh,” will once again follow Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po. They will be voiced by Rachelle Beinart, Rebecca Hyland, Nick Chee Ping Kellington and Jeremiah Krage. Each episode will include an original “Tummy Tales” song, said Netflix.

WildBrain (fka DHX Media) has controlled the rights to Teletubbies since acquiring the property’s former owner Ragdoll Worldwide in 2013. Ragdoll was founded by Teletubbies co-creator Anne Wood.

Andrew Davenport is the other co-creator and co-wrote the original version of the series with Williams.

Teletubbies shot to worldwide fame in the 1990s, with the original version running on the BBC from 1997 to 2001. Another revival of the show ran from 2015 to 2018.
