Sternberg, Motion tune Guitar Star for US

US producer Scott Sternberg and American prodco Motion Content Group have optioned music format Guitar Star from UK-based distributor Sky Vision.

Guitar Star was originally produced for Sky Arts

The deal will give Sternberg and Motion Content exclusive rights to pitch the format to US broadcasters over the next six months.

Music talent executive Suzanne Bender (The Voice USA, American Idol) has also been drafted in to lead the casting.

The format was originally produced by UK prodco Somethin’ Else and GroupM Entertainment UK (now part of Motion) for Sky Arts.

It attempts to find extraordinary amateur guitarists of all ages and styles, with judges testing their skills and crowning a winner. Sky Vision holds global distribution rights to the format.
