Stark steps down as MGM/UA president

Michael Wright

Steve Stark, president of MGM/UA Television, is stepping down to take up a producing deal with the company, with his scripted duties being assumed by Epix president Michael Wright.

Stark, who joined MGM in 2011, was previously head of scripted television production and development, before being promoted to president of new label MGM/UA Television last year.

While at MGM he has been behind series such as Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and FX’s Fargo, and will continue to produce these series under his new deal with the studio.

Stark’s scripted duties will be taken over by Wright, who will continue in his role as president of MGM’s premium cablenet Epix, according to US reports.
