Showtime originals return for 2014

US cablenet Showtime has revealed its winter programming slate, which includes returning original series Shameless, House of Lies and Episodes.

The fourth season of the US version of Shameless, adapted from Paul Abbott’s British series, which aired for 11 season on Channel 4 in the UK, will premiere on Sunday January 12 at 21.00 (ET/PT).

That will be followed immediately by the third season of House of Lies (12×30’) at 22.00 and the third run of Episodes (9×30’) starring Friends alum Matt Le Blanc at 22.30.

Showtime is also lining up two new comedy specials to air before the end of 2013.

F#ck Nick Cannon will air this Saturday, November 16, at 22.00 and sees the comic actor changing his view of the world after a health scare and giving his perspective on growing old, raising children and being married to Mariah Carey.

Comedy Warriors will air on Thursday December 5 at 20.00, giving five severely wounded Iraq and Afghanistan veterans the opportunity to work through their experiences with professional comedy writers and put together their own stand-up routines.

In factual, the channel is prepping Another Day/Another Time: The Music of Inside Llewyn Davis for a Friday December 13 premiere. The doc is inspired by and includes the music from forthcoming Coen Brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis.

Candid celebrity interview special $ellebrity, featuring Jennifer Aniston and Elton John among others, will air on Friday December 27 at 20.00.

Showtime is also readying several sports docs including feature length Against The Tide, which airs this Friday at 22.00 and looks at the 1970 college football match-up between the University of Alabama and the University of Southern California played against the backdrop of the civil rights movement.

Shobox: The New Generation premieres on Friday December 6 at 23.50 looking at up and coming boxers while Showtime Sports’ popular access all areas series All Access will go behind the scenes of the Adrien Broner and Marcos Maidana welterweight boxing championship fight on Saturday December 7 at 19.30.
