In the new role, Diaz, who has been with Sesame Workshop since 2016, will lead development and the overarching development strategy for longform and shortform series, specials and other programming initiatives. She will report to Kay Wilson Stallings, executive VP of creative and production.

Diaz was previously a creative producer for select current series at Sesame Workshop, overseeing content development and generating new programme concepts. During her time at the company, she has worked on the development of projects including Charlotte’s Web, Sesame Street specials, Elmo Gets a Puppy and the upcoming The Nutcracker: Starring Elmo & Tango.

Before joining Sesame Workshop, she was a writer, producer and puppeteer at Sprout on the Emmy-nominated The Sunny Side Up Show.

“Kim is an invaluable leader, full of collaborative energy and thoughtful insight that furthers our mission,” said Wilson Stallings.

“I know she will continue to bring her immense creativity to all of our content, fostering new ideas into incredible programming that helps kids grow smarter, stronger and kinder.”
